Computer Access for People with Disabilities
For most people, something as simple as using a computer can seem a daily occurrence most take for granted. For people with disabilities, however, the opportunity to improve their access and usability with computers can be life-changing.
The team at Puffin Innovations is initially solving computer access for people with disabilities by focusing on products to allow people to use a computer without their hands. The Puffin works by either “blowing” into the device or “sipping” using mouth functions in order to operate a computer.
By offering this type of functionality to people, whom historically wouldn’t be able to use a computer at all, opens up a new world both for people with disabilities to enjoy a more autonomous personal life, as well as employers now able to access a more efficient workforce.
